AUDITIONS
General Information:
- Auditions are open to everyone; family involvement is highly encouraged.
- Auditions are conducted on a first-come, first served basis.
- You need only audition once; you will be called back if needed for a second audition.
- Ages noted in cast requirements are approximate.
- Auditions may involve singing, acting, reading, or dance, depending on the show.
- Most productions involve dance of some kind - please dress for movement.
- Bring your family calendar to note any rehearsal conflicts on your audition form.

Show Info:
Rehearsals Start: June 12, 2009
Performances: Six between August 5 - 9, 2009.
Audition Format - Prepare the following:
- 16 to 32 bars of a song from “Little Shop of Horrors” (preferred), or another song of your choice from contemporary musical theatre. If the song is not from Little Shop, bring sheet music.
- A one to two minute monologue NOT from “Little Shop of Horrors”
Minimum age: 18
Cast Size: Nine performers: seven characters, one offstage voice, one puppeteer
Characters:
SEYMOUR - (Male - 20s to 30s) Strong singer, low A to high G. Insecure but well-meaning flower shop clerk.
AUDREY - (Female 20s to 30s): Strong singer, low A to high D. Sweet but ditzy, with low self-esteem.
CRYSTAL, RONNETTE, CHIFFON: Female, strong singers. The “street urchins” who act as a chorus, occasionally speaking to the audience. Could be younger or older.
MR. MUSHNIK - (Male 50s to 60s): A failure as a florist, disheveled, sarcastic, and sweaty.
ORIN - (Male 20s to 40s): Audrey’s boyfriend. A handsome, egotistical dentist and sadist. Orin also plays many other small parts in the play.
AUDREY II: A plant with a taste for human blood. The plant is played by a PUPPETEER (good physical strength and dexterity) and an OFFSTAGE VOICE (male, strong, and bluesy)
